and

Just a couple quick shots from when I first brought it home. I keep telling myself that I'll clean it up good and take some nice shots of it one of these days.

I think silver is the best color for the Cobalt, nice choice. The wing doesn't seem so obnoxious on your car.

PS> Drop it like it's hot.

Thanks for the nice words, and I do want to drop it...but call me paranoid, I worry about the long-term effects on the shocks / struts, as well as what it would do to the suspension geometry. I keep hearing that 1.5" is ok, but the car already sits an inch lower than regular Cobalts, so I'm watching to see how everyone else that's done a drop pans out. Maybe after a while if I still don't see anyone complaining about having to replace their struts at 25k miles, or having the insides if their tires bald after 5k miles, I'll consider it.

There are steps to take to get around from balding tires and such...

If you want to drop it the RIGHT way you will want to do a full replacement of shocks/struts as well as springs, as in getting a full set of coilovers....

Its not bad, needs a little bit of work to make it stand out, of course, but it is stock after all..... ;)

That's another reason I haven't done a drop yet. I would want to do it right, and coil-over kits, at least for the Cobalt, run a good 4 times as much as springs. And yeah, it is stock, as your say...on the outside, anyway. ;)

Thats how much doing stuff right costs.....

And of course I can only judge by what I see/read.... ;)

Sounds like good plans! Be careful about getting that Ingalls, though. I had a brace on my car, and it didn't do a damn thing. You will likely see much better results from a good set of control arm bushings, and / or poly mounts.

Where in AZ are you? One of my really good friends lives out in Surprise. I wonder if you know him...He's on CobaltSS.net, I think his name is x8xviperx6x, or something like that. I like the silver on the Cobalts too, the red/blue/yellow stand out too much.....the silver is kind of....chill...
