I have the bolt off the crank pulley but the crank pulley isn't coming off. I thought you just take the bolt off and the pulley should come off. I pulled on it with my hands but not sure if im suppose to use a pulley puller. I cant find anything that says you need one. its a d15b7 automatic

Did the metal shear?

Try whacking it a few times really hard with a rubber mallet.

yea I tried smacking it. it was sheared before, had a new one installed though. I don't need a pulley puller though right

Puller should not be required. Can you gently pry from behind the pulley without breaking the lower timing belt cover?

This kind of problem usually happens when the timing belt and the belt guide plates are incorrectly installed.

I did pry some but no luck I can feel it move a little but it does not want to come out. will the guide plates not let it come out. will it eventually come out

the gear pullers don't fit the pulley everyone's telling me the pulley should just come off after the bolt is taken out but it wont budge
