I took my car in to get a 2nd siren and battery put in, and when i got it back my CEL was on and all the setting on my vtec controller are retarded now, I had that s**t tuned and i dont know how to set it back to how it was, it says my pressure is -545 at idle is that bad? i dont think it was at that before i dropped the car off, i told the guys that work there and they said absolutely nothing they did could throw the CEL, im guessing the just disconnected the battery and it ruined my VAFC settings and in turn spazed out my ECU, when i got home i disconected the battery again (and my 2nd alarm went off wooo hoooo) and when i turned the car on again the CEL was gone, and hasn't come on since (7 starts) so i guess my questions are, what should the pressure read? and now that the CEL is off does it mean that if i got to smog it, it will be ok? someone help please thanks

now that the cel is off you should be fine as far as smog is concerned, cause mine turned on a while ago for something then never tuned on again and it smogged fine ... although they couldnt get the obd2 to work right at first so the guy kept turning the car off and on i was pissed

so glad im moving to butte county where its emmissions only, no visual inspection or obd2 computer check.

youre CEL is going to turn back on after a couple of miles. you wont pass smog because your ECU hasnt reset diagnosed your engine yet. it take 300 miles after you reset it... i think..

if i take it to autozone and they say there is no code saved on the ecu then im safe right? my main concern now is getting my VAFC back to the specs it was!

no you arent safe. the scanner that autozone is a simple scanner. the one that state inspection uses is more complicated. it wont scan it if your ecu doesnt have information about the engine saved on it. theyll tell you to come back after 300 miles. you cant reset your ecu to pass emissions

disconnecting the battery will NOT erase the settings on a CORRECTLY installed vafc....

edit the pressure is not that far off..

i think its three complete drive cycles, which means the car has to be run from open to close loop three times

I'm pretty sure the VAFC shouldn't have reset itself because you put a new battery in... unless it doesn't have a memory feature... which would be ironic being that it is a very vital mod if added to a tuned car...

I reset my ECU on Sunday because I forgot to plug a sensor back in after I took it out (was doing some wire tucking, and it was easier to get it outta the way), and I got my car inspected the next day on Monday, and it passed.....so I dunno :what: I also got it inspected at a place where I work (car dealership)...but still...I didnt know the tech that inspected my car, so its not like he passed me even if something was wrong.....I think Shea is right, about the 3 complete drive cycles...
