My friend just had the B16 motor rebuilt and put in some CTR pistons about .25 in. bigger. Replaced the OBD II computer with OBD 1 w/ performance chip, AEM Cam gears w/ new timing belt, AEM pulleys, Skunk2 intake manifold. Had the head re-grinded and cleaned out all the valves. Put in a new clutch from Clucthnet and new flywheel. New diffrential in the transmission and sproket, NGK plugs w/ new distributer cap, Red Valve cover, DC 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, new water and oil pump. He spent close to $5,000 including labor.
The mechanic says he should be able to take those Ford GT 4.6L, RSX-Type S, Celica GTS, Integra Type R, and others... He said he has to break in the motor before he can really flor it. Around 1000 miles should do it the mechanic said.
I wanted to know what you guys think about the upgrades he did and the $$ he spent. We are going to take pictures of what it looks like now and post later. Please don't take it like I braggin about his motor just want some feed back. It took him a long time to get that money. He's a really cool guy.
