So I got a tremendous deal on a freshly rebuilt short block. Since I'm going turbo I figure this would be a good addition to my turbo project. However, the rebuild consist of a b16a2 rebuilt with the following internals CTR piston’s .25 over, OEM rods, OEM bearings, OEM water & oil pump and all OEM seals. Would this be a mistake to use CTR pistons going turbo? Not going to be pushing a lot of boost my goal is 300 hp maybe 350. I have a 60trim turbonetics with a .63 a/r. Currently have 560cc injectors might be going 1000cc but after doing research 560cc are good up till 100hp per cylinder. My cams are going to be 95 GSR cams. Any info and / or comments are very much appreciated. Thanks

it will be a sick setup, just make sure you get it tuned.

and run 93 all the time.

then just make sure you get a good tune.

high comp + boost rules, its just a little more risky, with a good tune you eliminate that risk, so you are left with only win.

Yeah I used this compression calculator and based on my stock b16a2 head matched with the pct (jdm b16b pistons) I'm looking at 1587 displacement and 10.8.1 compression. A good tune is sure right and Evans tuning is like freaking five months wait period. BLKHOPE put me on to this spot so I'm going to give them a shot and see what's up.

it would be nice to have high compression but as stated above its a risk. try getting your car tuned by a tuner with a good rep. it would be a good idea to get a low compression head gasket.

i think the stock head gasket is like .026 or somethin. cometic sells thicker ones, maybe look at a .030, and that will give you just alittle lower, dont go too thick though

Don't lower the compression just tune at it from there. Just make sure when your tuner hits max power with your timing he backs it off a couple degrees and everything should be good.
