Custom Cold Air Intake?

Can anyone teach me how to properly install my own cold air for my intake with those air ventilating silver tubes?? if anyone understands what i am trying to say.
I just want to add a big tube from the front bumper to the intake area where i can collect cold air from outside the engine bay and into the intake area.

that's GHETTO! why not go for a hood scoop? i dont have a/c so i could just run it where the a/c fan should be. but i'm not sure about your engine layout.

i have the intake with a ractive hose and filter already... but i wanna DIY cold air, taking cold air from the outside of the car... the intake i have right now is all in my engine bay collecting hot air from the engine, i wanna connect a tube to the outer side of the car to bring in cold air from outside the engine bay.

why dont you just stay with your short ram, they're better for high end power anyways, with a cold air they're useless after 5500 rpm

Here is what I've done. That's my old CAI, but I did it myself. I now bought a AEM.
Just go to your local speed shop and buy some tubing and rubber adapters.

Thats a y7 manifold w/the throttle body facing up. i know cuz i got the same one.lol..worst design ever!

okay, so u have a short ram, and u want to make it a cold air? i would say get a u-pipe from jcwhitney and cut it so that u get the bend that does down that hole where your resonator used to be (that u-pipe)

I've done this or something close to it. Where the factory fog lights would be I have the hose opening. The hose runs up to the filter (I have a K&N ram air style filter) through the hole that is used for cai. Its not as good as cai but its better than short ram. I also have a ram air part that goes in place of my headlight that I attach to the short ram when I race at sanctioned events. To get the full benefit from this you need a ram air filter.

cai's dont produce power uptop where honda's usually need them. short ram's do

what you describe, with the hosing and/or forcing of air (ram air) into the air intake is commonly known as air induction. one of the wrx's in chile has that, vacuum hose down to his frontend
