Custome made Subwoofer Trunk BOX

Anyone know how to make a custome made subwoofer trunk box that is built into the car? I have a 95 honda civic and I would like to make a box that fits in my car and is part of my car. Does anyone know how to or have website where this is done? Pictures would be great. Please help.

There is an article on that in the October 2003 issue of CarAudio and Electronics magazine : www.caraudiomag.com with about the ugliest dash I have ever seen. But I bet he doesn't get points deducted on sound quality in competition either. Either way all that MDF, cloth, and fiberglass looks complicated to me but being able to control your finished product's shape and acoustics is pretty cool.

I was looking into something simple like just wood box not a fiber glass as I have no experience with such material. But thanks all for replying, I have attempted to make one custom fit to my trunk, but It doesn't sound lound I didn't quit get into all the dimension stuff though I'll post pictures somewhere in the near future. I will keep working on it to make the best sound possible.

oh yeah and a jig saw to cut the holes with post up when your done. theres money to be made in making custom boxes go for it.

im in the middle of working on mine. ill post some pics of it when its done. its just time consuming and thats one thing that i don't have alot of. just make sure you measure twice cut once.

someone told me that the boxes and stuff had to be perfect dimensions or it would blow the cones or sumthing like that? is this not true?

very true over sized boxes dont hold the right amount of presure needed for good bass. An if the box is too small it restricks the flow off air and the movment of the woofer cone causing it to crack from too much presure. Now all this also depends on how much wattage your kicking a dad wattage combo will just f**k up your sounds plain and simple. 1000 watt amp + 400 watt woofer = blow'n.

By screwing up a lot of audio components . No seriously, It really sucks when you put a lot of time into building an enclosure and it sounds like total crap. Do the research and double check your math. I am too lazy now and pay way too much for secent quality enclosures that someone else did the math on.
