what kind of oil are you using? post more information about the vehicle.... how many miles does it have?
if your piston rings are worn then try using a thicker oil, it will help simply by allowing less oil in to the combustion chamber.. higher mileage cars usually should be using a little thicker oil. you'll notice a difference too in terms of whether or not you have loud(chattery) valve noise under the rocker cover.

also consider researching a little information on the issue your having, not sure what you mean by "burning oil every week"? hopefully you continue to check your oil often and next time you chamge your oil try a thicker weight, hope this helps

138k miles. I have to add oil every week is what i mean, white smokes after 3k rpms. I've used 5w30 and last oil change moved to 10w30. Hasnr made a difference

White smoke is usually coolant burning, not oil.

Have you checked the spark plug chambers for oil seepage? It may be the valve cover o-ring seals.
