I am rebuilding the engine for my 97 EX. I have rebuilt several engines before but never a Honda. When the machine shop cleaned up the head and did the valve job they may have bead blasted it. The camshaft bearing surfaces on the head have definitely lost the shiney appearance that was there when I removed the camshaft.(I was expecting to replace camshaft bearings as in other engines I have rebuilt.) Is there a problem here? it seem like this would be a pretty common occurance. Should I dress up the bearing surfaces in some way before I reassemble the camshaft and rockerarms?
