why would you want to do this?
unless you really know what you are doing what you end up making may not do as good a job as something you could have bought.
a header for a y8 can go anywhere from relativley cheap to expensive just depends on what type you want. i didnt want one of the cheap ebay knockoff ones so i went with basically the middle ground and paid 120 for a megan racing header and i love it had it for a good while and its held up really well.
