D16Y8 Swap Problem

Hey guys, I usually have a great go to guy for all my civic needs but my boy just deployed in the middle of my swap making this more difficult than usual. Im not mechanically savvy and this is the first time I have ever attempted anything like this so this is what I have done.

I blew my D16Y8 so a few months later I found another EX but this one was automatic and totaled so I bought it for a good price. I swapped my tranny to keep my car manual and dropped the new Y8 in my car and connected almost everything in order to try firing it up. After getting the firing order right she cranks on the dime but my cousin says shes running rich. Has a strange idle is all I can tell. Reving itself slightly over and over again. He thinks I may need to put the engine harness from my old Y8 on the new engine. Which could make sense since I have en extra plug that wont connect to my computer. So is this something that could solve my issue or should the wiring harness for the auto transmission be fine?

Thanks for any advice.

Your IACV on your intake manifold is left unplugged and open isn't it?

If that's the case, I'd simply swap over your old intake manifold.

thanks

Thanks the for the input fellas, ill try that today. Hopefully its an easy swap. So I should be fine running the automatic harness as long as my tranny and computer are for manual?

Yup, I did an auto to manual conversion and still use the auto harness.

Definitely check for small vacuum leaks by the manifold.
