d16y8 with p06

i previously had a d16y7 non vtec turbo
i got rid of the car and purchased a 98 ex with a d16y8

i still have all the turbo parts and looking to put it all in my d16y8

my question is....

can i use my old p06 ecu from my y7 turbo on my y8?

will the tuner be able to convert to vtec or will the person that chipped it have to?

i dont want to spend uneccessary money when i dont have to

Yes the tuner should be able to convert it to vtec. and yes you can use the po6 acorss you have to have it tuned for the y8 but you would have to buy a obd2 to a obd1 harness which would run arond 75 bucks or so not shipped
