d16z6 manual trans swap not starting

I swaped my 94 civic lx to a d16z6 vtec and from auto to manual trans and i put a new starter on it and the solenoid clicks but doesnt crank and my throttle cable gets hot and smokes i need help

Check your battery ground connection to the engine. It sounds like the starter current is somehow being shunted through the cable to complete the starter motor circuit. Make sure the throttle cable is not touching any red battery supply wires.

The throttle cable isnt touching anything but my battery has one ground to the body one from motor to body and trans to body, should i do more
