D16z6 Vtec

i've seen answers on these forums from 3000rpm to 6500 rpm.
does anyone know what rpm vtec kicks in on a stock D16Z6 VTEC? 5spd if that makes a diff. and i've already "googled it up" I went through 15 pages of links before i gave up.

from what i know its ran off oil pressure , but usually it engages at roughly 5000-5500 RPMS mines kicks in at bout 5200

yeah you are correct it is at that pressure my vafc shows in numbers when it turns on and it varries but stock it was like 5.2-5.4k but it depends on how much oil you have and if the motor is worm in cold weather if you turn your car on and try to rev it, it wont turn on.

maybe, you could have too high of oil pressure. it isnt an exact thing just when the pressure builds enough

Because I sure as hell cant feel it, maybe it's becasue im missing a cam

I know it's there it just doesnt really make much of a difference in the SOHC.... I think.

The only go juice I have is AEM CAI and a GReddy Evolution Catback Exhaust... and no ac unit lol

RAAAR!!!! this blows... ive never driven a REAL honda VTEC!!... rite now i have a 95 VX.... and the VTEC is disigned only for fuel efficiency... no power... and its got a tiny little bitty cam.... and my new integra has brand spankin' new BIGGER cam gears and shafts... and ITS A B18B1!!!!! ... no VTEC.... ...

Stock Civic with VTEC = you're not missing much ...

man i dont knowwhat you all are talkin about because i feel my vtec every time and i dont have my bigger cam in yet. i love the way it works in mine

When vtec kicks in the car goes VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. Thats what it does... yeah.

yup just be aware of the car at around 4500 rpms turn the radio off and if you have any motor mods you will be able to here it better.

just make sure your timing belt is in good condition if youre pimpin that s**t hard often
