d17 a1 to a d17 vtec

The newbie has a question. I have a 02 civic CA smog that lost its third atuo trans. A guy from work totaled his his honda and had a new trans he was going to put in it. So he sold it to me instead,while I was there he said he would sell me his V-tech engine70,000 with all the trimmings for 200. My civic is a LX I wanted to know can this be put in my car without changing the computer. and how could I do it. Worse case I'll be able to use the block with my head. any help or Ideas THanks Shawn

This is a Hot mess...

Before anyone else gives you he** for this it is VTEC... It is not VTECH... And yes everyone will bash this thread for that....

As far as what your asking, why replace the engine when it's not bad? Just swap your trans and sell the engine for some cash on craigslist.....

As far as VTEC! You can't use the block with your head for VTEC because it is the head that carry's the Vtec parts.....

Not being a jerk man just saying what will happen...
