d4 & P lights on at the same time. No crank / No start

Amazingly, I can't find anyone who's had this problem. 97 Civic EX 2 dr Coupe was running just fine then one day, I go to start it and no crank / no start. All my lights goes on but I notice the D4 and P lights stay on at the same time when the key's in the acc position.
It does have an after market alarm system and I heard that could be the reason. I disconnected it but don't know if that's enough to reset my car to where it should now crank & start.
I'm about to try changing the ignition switch and cables that run from the ignition but wanted to seek out quality answers here first.

I think you mean ON(II), not ACC/ON(I). When the D4 light stays on, it means there's an auto transmission trouble code stored in the ECU. This would not cause the no crank/no start problem.
