well after seeing my car on jacks for about a month i got the idea to do sumthing stupid to it. so i took a trip to radio shack to see if they had white lights for my licence plate. i was lookin in the led section and i came across a 12v green led and i was like "hmmm....IDEA!" so i decided to make a vtec light to know when vtec engages.

first i drilled a whole where i wanted to put it.

next, i put the light bulb in and hooked up pos and neg.

i put the black to the negitive on the radio

then i ran the wire to the green/white wire on the harness goin to the ecu.

then i put it all back together and tada!

it cost me $4 and around 10 mins. the part that sucks is that i have no clue if it works or not. this is all "in theory." i have no idea how many volts the vtec wire is. i looked up the wire colorcodes and i just assumed it was 12v. im gunna put a red one next to it for another retarded idea which i havent thought of yet.

i put mine in the console with a blue LED and crafted a label using the ole deskjet printer and some transparency film.

That's the same light I'm runnin for my vtec light except I'm using red. Yes it works (at least in my car it does). My vtec kicks in at 5500 rpms so it's pretty nice to see it flash on when I hit it.

i have a built it "shift light" in my ej7, so im thinking of rewiring it to be a vtec light instead. if all i need to do is wire it to the green/white wire, i might do this befor work tomorrow.

yes it works the way u did it, im not sure if thats the right plug for vtec but it will work if it is... i had one in my car for awhile, but not more VTEC so its out of order.. BTW it was kinda useless since my Vtec sounded like i had someone under my hood screaming

Also thanks for reminding me.. i think im going to make mine a shift lite.
