Hi everyone. I just bought a 2000 ex coupe if you haven't seen my thread on it. I was deciding on getting a drop and rims soon, but decided i would like a little more power out of my ride first. I'm looking to get 200 hp which seems to be the norm for a stock d16. There are lots of turbo's out there like greddy, garrett, turbonetics, etc. and i would like to know people's experience with them. I also see one's on ebay, don't know how well those would work, but i'm leaving my options wide open. I'm looking to spend 1000 or less if i could for everything. i'm trying to make this cheaper then a swap and don't really have time to put a swap in since i need the car as a daily. just want ideas on what turbo would be reliable enough to get a little more power out of my car and not have to sacrifice reliability. I know i might need other stuff like a chipped ecu, fuel pump, boost controller, intercooler and piping, Bov and all that jazz. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you want a reliable kit sty away from eBay turbo kits. Just Piece your own kit together and you'll be much happier. There are plenty of diy turbo kits such as using small tdo5 turbo and mating it to the hf manifold. Your budget is kinda low though. 1000 might get you all the parts if you find them used and cheap but remember you'll have to get a good tune as well and many shoos today charge by the hour to tune it and most range from $100-$180 an hour depending on where your from

checkout my build thread.

get some rotas - 450$ or so
function and form type 1 or 2 or 2.5 - from like 550$-1000$

quality turbo build that you piece together yourself with a tune should put ya somewhere around 1000$. I'd suggest piecing something together by making some WTB turbo parts and just start getting some stuff together. Stock y8 turbo should easily make 200-215whp.

Ive seen a lot of used greddy kits on HT go pretty cheap like around $600 w/ low miles on em, thats a decent cheap way to start off your build since the main thing you would really consider is what kind of manifold you wanna run (log/tubular) then the charge pipes depending on what manifold you run. Ebay Manifolds crack easily and like evryone else says, you get what you pay for.

I found this greddy turbo kit for a 92-95. Will this fit my car? Yeah I was gonna get type 1's and some rota c8's.

I think only the manifold would fit perfectly but as far as the piping i dnt think so. if the kit is cheap and turbo still good then might as well grab it and have a shop fab you up some piping. is it a complete greddy kit with the front mount intercooler? if not then find a cheap one like JRC.

A 92-95 Civic Greddy kit will physically bolt up to a 96-00 Civic EX chassis the exact same.
