so im posting here cause i don't need any help, i just thought i would share.
So my nice new sleeved Ls/Vtec spun a bearing. i was racing, and yes i deserve it due to that fact; but damn it sucks. gotta yank the motor and prey it is just a spun bearing and my rod is ok. we'll see i guess. ill take pictures tomorrow after i get it out and broken down. I guess it was bound to happen or maybe it didn't like the bearing clearance; what ever did happen it still blows. I think what i will do is take my tax money, send it to golden eagle and let them build and balance my whole bottom end.:(

So my rod bearings were ok, i did how ever find my #1 piston looking like this....any ideas as to what does this. im assuming it happened at high RPM, so that may help. i also see no oiling issues as i pulled the #4 piston and everything looked good.

i think golden eagle checked that when they gapped my rings; but im not positive. i have done some research and come up with kinda the same question as skirt scuffing like that is only caused by a few things. input is more than welcome

I have seen this exact thing in a S2000 before. The f20 super detonated because it had a bad mixture. The f20 sent a spark plug flying out of the block and caused the same kind of damage you see with your block/piston.

interresting. my A/F at the time was rock solid at 11.0. All my spark plugs were intact and showed good burn charecteristics, Piston tops are still baby skin smooth with no pitting or sighns of hot spots. im still leaning tward impropper piston to wall clearences.

sorry no pics. i am waitting on my good old boys at the local machine shop to come back as to how bad the cylider damage was. they said that as it is a sleeved block, it should not have ballooned the cylinder wall at all. As it stands, other than maybe a new set of pistons......Booo....im good. and ya, im having them do the bottom end assembly, i gotta pack, were out to florida! We got the house we were looking at in tampa. in ground pool! sweet!

The bore was at stock 81mm as ordered when I got the block. Another factor; they didn't champher, or how ever you spell that word, the lower rim on my cyliders. I love a sharp knife edge dragging over my piston at 8600rpms. f**kin hack job I payer good money for my block and that's what they send? I shoulda checked is what it comes down to, and now I have paid my penance in cold hard cash. Live and learn.

Ps. Sorry bout the triple post. My phone is acting sketch.

So i have been spending quite a bit of time in the garage. after finally looking at my valve train i saw my rocker pads could use some love. i resurfaced them starting with 600 gritt to take the wear patern off and moved all the way up too 2000 gritt to get the finished product. i feel like my fingers could now punture raw steal with the amount of polishing i have done. these photos are only my half way point and you can tell the distinct difference between the refinished and the untouched pads. ill post up the finished photos tomorrow cause im to tired to back out into the garage and take a photo.
