is the dash harness the same between 96-98 and 99-00? the reason i ask is because my car is obd2a(97) and i will be running a obd2b engine harness. from there i will be using a jumper harness from obd2b to obd1, so i need to know if the ecu plug from the dash harness is the same between the years. thanks for the help.

or if someone knows if i can run a obd2b dash harness in my obd2a car. or should i be looking to leave the car obd2a and jump that to obd1. either way im replacing my dash and engine harness. if i were to keep it all obd2a, can i use a dash harness from any 96-98(ex.lx,dx,hx,cx) or would i have to stay with what my car is cause of different accessories? much help and any help welcome.

you don't need to replace any of the harnesses.
i just put a obd2b (B20) engine in my obd2a car and i used my stock engine and dash harness. just had to make some minor modifications to my engine harness and i was good to go. i also used a obd2a LS ecu so i didnt need a conversion harness. if you plan to use a conversion harness you will be fine either way

well from what i have found out so far. obd2a engine harness has three plugs for the ecu and a green plug for the dash harness. obd2b engine harness has two ecu plugs and a green plug for the dash, while the 2b dash harness has one ecu plug and the green plug. so that would mean the dash harness is not the same. my car and engine both a obd2a and the only engine harness i could find local was a 2b. from my findings, there would be alot of re wiring to do using it. i had a rywire mil spec harness on my car and it is missing a few sensors so i decided to pull it and start over, i was just unsure if i could use obd2b engine harness and still use my 2a dash. cant do it.
