Dashboard DX / si ?

SO i found out today totally for got that my dashboard in my new civic DX 1989 has not Tachometer. Im wondering if i could swap a 90 / 91 Civic si dash into mine ? Or should i just got buy a tach. ? But where in canada is a good place. I dont want a 5" tach just a small one like 3" or the indash one. Im also planning on changing the background color of the dash from black to white.

I belive you can just swap out a the gauge cluster.

Can i change the whole front dash board of just the guage part..? Im talking about fromt he left hand all the way over to the right hand.. From a si to my dx is this possible ?

I might be confused but sounds like you want to take the whole dash out??? If so anything is possible to make it fit its a matter of how much time you want to put into it.

But if you only want a tach... Why do all of that??? I think its like four to six screws or something. Just pull the gauge cluster out and put the new one in.. Now you have a tach with out taking the dash out.

Thats true too, But it would look nicer with the whole dash moved : O ) I was thinking about making a customer fibre glass pod to hold a tach boost guage and exaust temp guage.. I think my dash looks fugly..

If you need a new dash you can make it work... But they pretty much look the same.. Not that much difference. And even if is fit perfect it will still be a lot of work.. I have a 91 DX too, so no tach. But I am just getting a gauge cluster off of ebay or somewhere and putting it in. Should not take long at all.

You should PM Tom he might be able to help you.. Probably will just tell you the same thing.. But he might be able to explain more of the details of what your wanting to do.
