My daughter wiped out the passenger side mirror on a 2012 civic, plastic shell( black) is crack, mirror is cracked but color shell( alabaster silve) survived, motor still works. I can get the parts on BKhondaparts.com pretty cheaply, but I need instruction on removing the mirror. Do you need to remove the door liner or can it be done from the exterior?

I'm not sure what you need to remove on the 2012, but you do have to remove the door panel on earlier models. If you go to the parts department at the Honda dealer, they may print out the service manual page describing how to replace the side mirror.

You should also call BKhondaparts to see whether they will provide some instructions.

it cannot be done from the exterior so like RonJ said you will need to take off the door panel.

Well guess our daughters have something in common! She duplicated your girls mirror wipeout last night, I'm told the mailbox did not do so well. I'm trying to find a replacement with install instructions but no luck. Can you share how you ended up doing the repairs on yours? I wonder if dealer does the work it will show up on carfax in form of a wreck!:(
