ddm tuning hids?

so i just got my 55w 8000k hids from ddm tuning and i was wondering if im supposed to take that little metal end cap off or am i supposed to point it a certain way? kinda like a reflector piece?

It stays on, mine are on my car and i have 35w 8k's

so its basically a reflector thing. forgot to mention that i have the hi/low kit
