Is there any reason a car with a dead battery would buzz? The buzzing sound came from the battery or near it and stopped when the key was put into the ignition and attempted to start the car. Pretty sure this battery is toast, but just trying to figure out what the buzz was. The car had been sitting for a good five hours with no lights or anything else on.

low votlage can freak anything out. The ecu doesnt have enough power and any relay can start buzzing clicking and making all sort of weird noises

It was more of a clicking kind of. It came from the front of the car, right near the battery. It might have come from the battery, but the hood wasn't up until we tried to start the car first.

Is it the starter not getting enough juice and it just clicks when you turn the ignition?

Bad ground/connection, SOMETHING is still gettign juice if you are hearing noises.

Well, this battery has been charged at least twice already. Maybe three times (no cash to get a new one when I moved here).

I have no idea what'd still be getting juice though. It's never been a problem in the three years I've owned the car.

Have you removed the battery? Does it still make that noise sans battery?

We have not removed the battery. We got a jump and brought it home. It'll be sitting outside and we'll take the other car for a bit. It hasn't made the sound again yet, but we were able to start it again after getting it home and turning it off (which I expected).

is something grounding out and killing your battery thus making you need a jump...

My Honda tech thinks it might be an AC relay. Says it's really common. So we'll be checking that in the next few days before putting my new battery in. :D
