Fitment Hater
Hey guys. I just recently picked up this sedan. I was in the market for a sedan but didn't think I'd be buying another Honda haha. Once I saw this I knew I had to have it. Old lady owned, 72k original miles, and even had complete service records. I don't plan on going too crazy with it. It will be auto crossed on the weekends once it gets warmer. I'll share my plans for it after the pics. Here it is all fresh, clean, and stock:
I didn't know what fluids the previous owner ran in it. So I decided to hop on handaaccessories.com and order a 6 pack of OEM Honda filters, a 12 pack of OEM crush washers, a gallon of Honda Type 2 coolant, 2 quarts of Honda MTF, and Skunk2 magnetic drain plugs.
So I went ahead and had my buddy flush the coolant, change the oil (previous owner used a carquest oil filter ), and change out the MTF. We didn't end up using the Honda MTF. My friend filled it up with Redline MTL for free. Wow, what a difference it made. It shifted pretty well before. But now it's like butter times 2390029029042092. Then I went on JHPUSA and Inline Four and ordered a CTR shift boot and an HOP aluminum 5 speed knob (from a base RSX I believe). Here they are installed:
I'll be keeping the engine relatively stock to keep in line with the class I want to run in in autocross. I plan on lowering the car about 2.5" to 2.75" front and rear. I've thought about swapping it but the factory engine has such low mileage I wouldn't feel right doing it. But a JDM B18C-R is definitely in the picture just way down the road from now.
My plans are as follows...
Engine/Performance:
DC Sports 4-2-1 Ceramic Header
DC Sports Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow High Flow Cat
GReddy SP2 or Apex'i WS2 exhaust (haven't really decided yet)
Drivetrain:
B&M dual bend shifter
Energy shifter bushings
Suspension/Wheels:
Ground Control coilovers with custom rates (430lbs front/350lbs rear)
Koni Yellows
Ground Control extended top hats
Front and rear tower bars
Lower tie bar
Function 7 LCAs
15x7" wheels (either gold, bronze or black/red lip)
205/50 tires
Exterior:
OEM 99-00 Si front lip
Genuine JDM CTR grille
OEM Fogs
DEPO tail lamps
