Just wondering if I need a dash kit for a 99 Civic Si. I have the cd player stock with an open bin below the CD Player. Can I just throw the new deck in the same location as the stock deck?

Some say I need the trim kit, others say no. Does anyone have pics of there stereo install?

Thanks again.

i didnt need one for my 95, but its a different generation. you can make it work without one most of the time, but the dash kit usually cleans it up a bit. try installing it w/o one, if it doesnt work to your liking, get a kit, they are only like 10-15 bucks.

if you're deck has a trim ring than it look fine. chances are you wont be using the basket that comes with the deck though, i think those have their own mounting hardware to use so you will actually be using screws to hold the deck in place.

Deck install

I got the deck installed. I can't believe how difficult they made it to access the deck. I guess Im too used to the Tercel. I could just pop the trim off and pull out the deck...

Thanks for the help guys.

wait... the 99 has the huge opening, right?
not like the 96-98s... but since I cant picture it in my head, I am unsure..

Yeah, they make it a tad tricky, ripping the lower dash apart, cramming screws way up where you can't really see 'em... ;)

Latino - what do you mean - lower parts?

Thats cake... you have a pocket in there, now, correct?
just remove the pocket, file the opening a little bigger if you want it to slide in from the front, or a little trimming and it will bolt into the factory brackets - provided it is a respectable brand... then extend the harness a little for the radio plug, and viola!
¡Fácil como pastel!
