difference b/w SE and DX

I just got a 2000 civic hatch SE(special edition)

i still have no idea what the difference is between SE and DX... are they the same?? how come is called special edition, what's so special about it??

if anyone knows an answer for me it would be totally great.. thanks guys...

Nice interior man...would assume that a Civic SE in Canada would be all the trimmings of a nicer civic with the same motor as a DX...thats how Integra SE's work. Did your car come with rims?

I think the only difference is the silver trim on the dash

is not the silver trim on the dash for sure.. i did that myself...

thank for the interior.. i love it too...

.. it comes with the 14'' web-style rims.. the ones that looks exactly like the integra gsr web-style ones...

naw, he means the mesh rims... theyare GSR rims, not my fav. GSR rims at that..

if you guys noticed, he still has to roll his own window up/down

from that picture .... i cant tell whats to SE about it. . . go to a dealer and ask maybe?

yeah... that's the only thing that sucks! roll up windows, but i'm sure that's optional when u buy it first hand...

yeah.. nice Type R seats.. i love them...

so i guess there' not much diff b/w se and dx...

I know the teggy se has the leather seats. I know a guy who has one. I joke with him about taking his engine and putting mine in his.

hm... in the US the "vp" trim is a dx + power windows, power locks, and cd player.

did your se comes with a radio, tape deck, or cd player? the DX trim comes with a radio (no tape nor cd)

uhh.... ive never heard of a DX SE... but yeah.. i hope u didnt pay EXTRA for it.. cuz the worst thing someone could do is slap a integra LS SE sign on it

HX is the fuel economy civic, powered by a d16y5
CX is d16y7-powered like the dx, lx, and vp trims... but with less creature comforts.

what's the engine in ur SE nissin?

pop the hood and look at your engine... stamped on the front of the block will be your engine code.

The diferecne is that your are supose to have a A/C and power lock. The juste made the SE because people wan't the a/c and power lock but did wan't to paye for the biger packaged so they made the SE.

That instrutment panel has a tachometer. Did you swap out the instrument panel or did it came like that? The U.S. hatchbacks certainly don't come with tachometers.

well, in canada DX usually comes with the tach...
mine came with the tach and i changed the dash as well...

mine has AC but no power lock...
