difference in the 93 ex/si coupes

i have a 93 ex coupe and i have a buddy that has a 93 si coupe...

i was wondering what the differences are in there two cars. bc i checked the specs and the only diff i could find is the si is just a bit lighter (bc as far as i know the engine, d16, are the same 1.6 vtec)

and btw he says that he has a 2.0 engine but im thinkin that thats bs bc i looked at it and it was a sohc, with that said i was wonderin if they made a 2.0 sohc? but he had the block shaved

btw he says he wants to race me and i was thinkin i would beat him but im not sure:

my ride:
1.6 sohc vtec, k&n short ram intake, 7mm spark wires

his ride:
93 si (engine unknown ) stock w/18 in rims with tries

I have a 93 ex coupe, with cat back exhaust, intake, headers....besides that is is stock. It runs pretty good. I beat a 04 forester and ran pretty good beside a 97 buick regal ls (he eventually won, but it was close) That would be such a good race! If I were you I would do it, just for bragging rights. If they are both manual, I think it will come down to the driver......those are always good races. Just make sure not to spin your tires too much and you should be all set, good luck!!! If that is a stock 93 si, it has the same exact engine. Becarful when buying parts from Autozone with this car, they always want to give me parts for the 1.5.......

yeah i'd like to race him... but he can be kind of an ass so if he wins ill never hear the end of it... and my tires blow but i just had them rotated so i should be ok. and his wheels are huge so they add more weight an they scrape his fendersv

look at the front of his block...it should say d16z6...if so hes got the same engine as you, i think honda made some 2.0 or bigger sohcs but they are in accords. as for the race... i dunno, its worth running him but theres so much variables it would be difficult to call a winner. if hes got his block shaved hes got more compression than you so hell prolly have more hp up high...but since hes on some dayumn 18's and your on steelies you should be able to get him if you practice your launch properly.

if he has the same engine as u just don't bring the spare tire... cause with the short ram and his 18" tires u should be able to beat him.. or at least keep up with him

well it ends up that its not an si at all...

its a friggin coupe. hes such a dumb s**t when it comes to imports, he doesn't even know what he drives
