DIY 99-00 Fog Lights

Hello

I've bought some knock off OEM fog lights for my Si and I am trying to follow the sheets from Honda about installing fog lights. However, I am confused because the sheets say there should be like "+" sign for the 11mm drill cut and there should be an outline of where to cut for the actual light.

So I am wondering what to do because there are no signals or signs or anything on my bumper.

Are there any write-ups with pictures, hopefully?

Thank you!

if the bumper is an OEM bumper there should be 6 little dots as an outline of where your suppose to cut, make sure its clean so you can see it better

I'll try cleaning it off, but i didn't see anything.

And, Idk where to cut since I can't really line up the light?

If you look on the inside of the front bumper, behind the little vent thing where the foglights mount up to, you'll see 2 sets of dimples (in an oval shape). You have to clean the area off really good to see them. I forget if it's the inner set or outer set but basically you just connect the dots and cut the oval out. Cut from the outside too. Otherwise, if you cut from the inside, the plastic outside of the bumper around the oval will be jagged and won't look good.

i'm not sure if my bumper is oem or not but on my other thread, i tried following the lightly scored lines... and it wasn't even close... i had to follow somethin else and kinda made up my own... as long as the bezel could hide it.. but if you search and find the thread "aftermarket fog lights" or something, you'll see it.. as far as screwing in the fog light brackets, on the right side, i had to trim off a part of the bumper screw in stem things so that my fogs could fit..

by the way.. i put in the oem fogs and I am pissed at me buyin the knock offs in the first place.. quality, ease of wiring and everything.. go oem all the way!!! my knock off screws and brackets were already rusting!

Wow, your thread is helping a lot. I see I am gonna have fitment issues but your's don't look bad at all unless you're two feet away from the car..But it always freaked me out. I thinking about lining up the fog light with the brackets and everything, and then outlining the light with a pencil or whatever. then maybe put the holes and cut around that. And I guess I should do it on the outside cutting in, as someone else mentioned ^^

But like I said, your ebay ones came out well for the issues and the other kid that posted there cut out so much, but the thing that covers them on the outside really does magic in covering it.

But where should I start making the cuts because I am NOT seeing the oval/rectangular thing that Honda says is there. and it is OEM. Maybe I'll just have to clean it??

Thanks for the help, though, everyone!

can you take a picture of the back of your bumper? i'll try and show you where the marks should be... also, where to cut and what you may have to modify like i did...

i had to trim down that part of the bumper where it's screwed in.... i trimmed it down to about the same length as the first hole on the right of it.

I don't know why but my passenger side screwed into the middle top hole while the driver did the first inner one... but i think if i were to do it over again, it might fit better with the middle as well on the driver... if i were to correct it... it probably wouldn't look too good...

but here's how it looks now with the oem ones... which i must say were worth every penny.

What did you trim down? One of the areas that you screw into?

Thanks Mr. EK

yes sir... on the top corner towards the end of the bumper of where the brackets screw into.. the three pertruding hole things.. lol.. dunno what they're called but try to fit it before you actually drill the hole for the bezel to screw into the bracket...
