I tried searching for this question in here for the past 20 minutes and I can't find an answer.
My question:
If I'm going to be installing an aftermarket alarm (Viper 791xv) into a 1997 Honda Civic HX, do I still need the stock head unit? I know that the stock head unit is assisting with keyless entry, but if I remove this head unit, couldn't I use the wires coming off the harness?
My answer: I believe I won't need this stock head unit, but I just want to be sure there isn't nothing I'm missing.
I plan on upgrading the stock head unit anyway so I won't leave it in there if it is not necessary.
