So I want a new look inside my car. I redyed my seats to fix the sun fade they had. I was thinking maybe I can reupholster the circular door insert on the inside of an 01-03 em2. Has anyone done this? I know there a how to but I'm not sure if the vinyl I have on my door will come off as easy as the fabric the early gens have. If i am able to remove the the binyl and replace it with fabric what color/pattern should i do? I have a SSM civic with the silver door inserts. Nothign to crazy inside my car...no colors just the stock dark interior and black racing seats. Call me crazy but i was thinking liek a gray white and yellow camo fabric if i could find it. It would look pretty crazy but I think i would liek the look. Let me know what you think...constructive opinions only please

Triz from civicforums has a how to on this I can post it if you need. Should be fairly easy to remove the stock material.

ultrasuede is ultra-cool but why does it have to be ultra-expensive?

Cheap suede cloth = $5.00 sq yd
Ultrasuede = $25 sq yd

ok so i want to remove the middle part of this from the door but there seems to be no way of removing it without completly destroying thhe door panel. Anyone have any ideas? the plastic leather that covers it now looks liek i can just peal it okk but i dont know if i can remove the panel behind it so i can re wrap it. do you guys know what im saying?

you can see the flaps from the synthetic leather that i want to remove...but i dont know how to remve the panel it is glued to

nvm he glued his too
i thought i asked him awhile back

do the rsx backseats fit?
how did you cover the door panel insert?
the only diy ive seen on the door thing is where someone glued the fabric on overtop of it and i dont know how long that would last.

With my door inserts we just took apart the door(removed the arm rest and handle with the window button) and removed the old fabric. Then used it as a template for the new material. Glue that to the door and tuck in the edges!
