Ok, so, had to fix my window, got the interior panel out, and here's the problem. There's that plasticy sheet that's contacted to door with putty stuff, and it was all torn up, so I just ripped it off. Going to replace it.

Now, I was able to scrap the massive amounts of this putty material stuff off, but it wont all come off. I've got a whole bunch of Goo Gone soaking into it right now, but it's currently not working that well. Suggestions? Just get in there and scrape what I can and redo over the leftover?

Also, what to use when redoing it? Silicone cock, or something special? Wha.

silicone caulk* would do the trick.
try removing the existing stuff with a razor blade.

Caulk, thanks. Haha. I wrote 'cock' and was like, that's not how its spelled but oh well.

I was thinking about it, but would silicone caulk tightly seal plastic and metal?

hate to bump this from the dead, but did you just use any kinda plastic to seal it up or did you use a certain kind?

you can use almost anykind of plastic, I tend to use the heavier stuff on a roll, you can find it at hardware stores most of the time, and of course silicone caulking to tack it down on the border

also does anyone know where they sell the stripping for the top of the inside of the door panel and also on the outside of the door panel, basically the weather strips that touch the window
