D.I.Y Power Door Lock Switch Relocation
Hey guys i have a 1996 Civic Ex, and after geting my door panels stolen I decieded to do something about it....
1. I disabled the door locks on each door, now the only way to lock/unlock the door is by key or the power lock button....
2. I moved the location of the power door locks button....
Everybody knows that getting into a Civic is easy beacuse off window streching. By moving the button that is used to lock/unlock the doors it makes it a little harder for theives to get in our cars....
You can put the button were ever you want, but make sure its somewere nobody can reach if they strech the window.
Then you have to find the plug that go's to the power door lock switch, unplug it and connect the 3 wires (1 for each wire on the plug). I just cut and spliced them to make it simple.
I decided to drill a hole into the door next to were the wires plug in for all the doors functions, to run my 3 wires.
From there I ran the 3 wires through the hole in the door and into the cabin, were all the other door wires already go through.
Then i found were i wanted the new location of my power locks button to go, ran the wires under the dash and connected them.
(I still haven't found my button, but its goin were the E-brake slots are)
