It's not gonna cost much so I'm doin' it soon. I had my door panel off the other day to put my window back on track  and actually got to looking at how I would do it. I can't figure out how to get the fabric off and back on. It looks like the plastic is melted around it to hold it in place. It's completly stock so I know it's like this from the factory. Any help appriciated. Thanks

hey man i've done this in my 6th gen and my buddie's 5th gen. i really wish i made a writeup because i've helped many ppl do it since but i'll help u out aswell.

what u have to do is cut off the tops of those melted plastic things u see. i used a razor blade.
after you cut off all the melted parts you'll be able to remove the arm rest from the rest of the panel
pull off the old fabric
glue on the new fabric using 3m super90 or dap contact cement(better hold than 3m but not as easy to apply)
looking at the doorpanel you'll see hollow plastic cylinder which u cut the melted part off of before.
use a small pilot drill bit to clean out the hollow part of the cylinder(some of mine had a lot of plastic in the holes)
use a running tape then a bottoming tap to thread the inside of each cylinder
now get some very short bolts and washers and reattach the armrest to the door panel with the bolts(use the washers where the cylinders are too short to have the bolt fully threaded)

if u need more help lemme know

Luke

ps: here's mine

wow, thats some bright red fabric. Looks good though I hope mine ends up that nice. I think I'm gonna do it in some kind of black, since I'm fixin' to paint my car gunmetal with lots of cf. Have you heard of that stuff their selling now thats the actuall paint they use in the factory, for the interior pieces. I gonna try to get a hold of some of that and do my interior black and dark grey. I got test pieces from my old car so I'll try it on those first. Thanks

I was just looking at all of your interior pictures, did you buy those needles, or did you just paint them?

i bought the cluster as is. the previous owner was big on model cars so was skilled at painting small details and just masked and painted the needles without removing them. they look great i like them. i wish they were ctr yellow but i like the red. its different. and it goes with the red in the rest of my interior
