I pulled off the speaker grills on my GSR to find the POS Pioneer factory door speakers with the insta-rot rubber surround on them. Any suggestions on a replacement that will work with the factory deck.

Yes, I am running the factory deck while I save up for a 400+ dollar head unit. I am not putting another Aiwa or 150 dollar Clarion in. I'm pretty sure that the power required for some nice MB Quarts is not gonna come out of a Factory Honda deck adn the distortion from that factory deck will just damage high end speakers so I need something cheap but proven

Oh, when I said High End, I meant High Quality High Price. They need to be full range.

well in that case...rockford fosgate makes some kick ass ones, polk, pioneer and alpine also have some nice ones

I told you the duals beacuse it sounded like you didnt think that your stock stereo would push some NICE speakers.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards Coaxial Pioneers and if they survive the distortion from the factory deck then I'll just leave them in when I get my deck.

Ouch! see, I like teh Alpine and Infinity but it's gonna be a few months before I can afford a decent deck. I so don't want to play all that OE deck distortion through a nice speaker.

they'll take the stock abuse, plus there cheap and easy as hell to install, if you need wire harnesses click HERE

if you plan on getting a better deck, go for some cheap pioneers and then upgrade later, good speakers do no good with out proper power and a nice clean signal from a better deck

That's what I wanted to hear...err read... That they'll take the stock abuse. I have still got some de-ricing and saving money to do before I worry about a new deck. Thanks! 8)

np man, i HIGHLY recomment a speaker wire harness, it will make it a billion times easier now, and when you upgrade, let me know how it turns out

ya i would definately get Alpine, Infinity or Boston Acoustic, all great speakers... also, i've had my alpine headunit for about 2.5 years now and it has been great, and they just came out with their new headunits so im about upgrading to the CDA-9851, and they're only about $225 shipped on eBay :D <click here>
