Door won't open outside,but will open inside!

i have a 97 civic hx and the outside door won't open its the handle feel loose like i can pull it up with my pinky. but of course it can open easiyl no problem from the inside. i took apart the door panel and looked up at the outside handle what do i do next? im clueless and i don't want to break anything plz help if you can

sounds like the mechanism that the outside door pulls on either fell off or broke. you need to take the door pannel off, get a hair dryer and go around the edge of the plastic and peel it off slowly-same for re installing-then you should have acces to the outside door handle look in there to see whats up.
