Doorpanel removal

I just can't get the clips off that hold the doorpanel.

In the 96-00 civic service manual they use a tool called 'trim pad removal tool'. I searched for it in a few shops, but can't find it anywhere.

Is there another way to pry them out carefully?

and yeah, i'm new here 8)

Take out all the screws on the trim (door handle and window switch). Then take off the speaker covers and unscew the 3 screws in there. Then just go to the back of the bottom and pull. Works everytime.

All the screws are already out, but just the clips.
Is it safe when i just pull the whole panel out ? Because i pulled 1 of the clips out when i was bending the panel to look inside the door and the panel. The sound was really scary, i thought i broke em.

you should be safe, you might break one, but that's really no big deal... just give it a good tug

try using a flat head screwdriver to carefully pry it loose. i think there is a lip on them that you can use the screwdriver to get under it and pull it out.

in the shop we had a fork looking tool, but i just pull it by hand. pull starting at the bottom out until its all unhooked, then lift it off the door (need to lift b/c the top kind of rest on the bottom of the window opening) the clips will either pop off the door, or the clip will stay in the door and come out of the door panel. if so, take a flathead and pop it out of door and back onto the panel. once you get a feel for the force you need to apply, it will be cake. if you decide to screwdriver it, put elec tape on the screwdriver so you dont scratch anything up.

Use a flathead screwdriver

Don't pull it off. You'll end up breaking one of them and it'll look the same and fit good, but once you get on the highway and or street with a few bumps you'll hear the rattle.

I broke 1 of the clips. I just pulled them out and luckily, just 1 of the 12 broke

I'm now busy getting the fabric on it without any bumps or waves. I'll post pics when done!

little too late but just in case someone else want's to know.

Go buy a big flathead screwdriver. Cover the end with a piece or two of electrical tape to give it a nice smooth surface and soften the sharp edges.

You can also use a hook from a hook and pick set to get started
