I ordered from crutchfield double din installation kit for my civic (2000 civic coupe) and im planning on installing the pioneer d3. Simple question is it going to fit?? They said it will but I read here that it doesn't fit right and there will be gaps.. can someone post pictures of double din head units in civics please?

thank you

Only double din units are really the 7" screens that will sit flush where everything was removed.

I disagree with you on that, why does it matter the screen size. The overall demensions of the units out there are the same ie double din, the screen might vary but the overall is usually the same.

What are you looking for then a single head unit and then like a block off plate or a screen to fit in there?

I looked on best buy and crutchfield and it said those wouldn't fit in my 01 civic. I don't really see why they wouldn't though :what:

because 7th gen civics have odd shaped factory HU opposed to late 6th gens which were standard DIN size.

But doesn't that only have to do with the trim kit? You can get 7th gen trim kits on eBay.

I have a Z1 in my 2000 and it does fit. I don't remember the metra kit number but I'm sure I can find it but you need it to fill in the gaps. the opening is slightly larger then double din but it works perfect. I like the color option of the D3 but the hard drive based nav of the Z1 is awesome. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want pics.

Nice. It looks clean. Is there any glare from the driver's perspective? Too bad you can't kick out the top of the unit so it remains flush with the console.
