I am wanting to put a double din dvd player in my car. I want the bluetooth capa. and nav, touch screen and all the goodies. I am not good with chooseing, i just know what i want lol. If anyone could give me any input as to what ones are good, and what ones are not, that would be great. I was looking at http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVICF90/Pioneer-AVIC-F900BT.html?tp=144 but wasnt sure. Price isnt that much of an issue. Prefer under 1k though. Thanks.

i like that unit..the nav on it is pretty good...i cant vouch for it other wise...my frined has it and loves it tho.. btw how do you install a double din unti into a 99-00 civic and make it flush?
Ok, and im not sure about installing into them of that year range never really messed with it, i cant help ya sorry. And Kream88 i live in a small hick town that nothing really ever goes on. You cant just not get what you want or do what you want because you are worried about someone stealing or doing something, thats called living in fear. But thanks for the post.
my double din pioneer is nicely tucked in there.. check my gagrage for pics, but none up close to the head unit. but you can see it in there.
Good choice, the F series are the hottest things right now because of their voice command features. If you're an audio buff the new Alpine w203 is a great choice as well....better sound quality than the Pioneer, but the navi is probably a little lesser.
Why don't you get an ear piece? You may get echoing.
Double DINs are sexy man. I just got my Pioneer Avic-D2 (I thnk) and its awesome. Full touch screen, gps, traffic, xm radio, etc.
To make it flush, you have to remove the climate control, and the metal bracket that holds the radio. Then you bolt the radio to the brack and reinstall the four 8mm bolts. This makes it MUCH hard to steal. Either the thief needs AT LEAST 5 minutes in the car, or hell just take the whole car, which is less likely than taking just the radio.
I cover it with a t shirt, so people don't see it because its very eye catching.

i covered mines with a t-shirt for a few days..i bought my unit and wanted to install it as a test then take it out until i got my alarm but i got lazy...haha...for 4 days i covered it with a shirt and made sure it didnt look like it was put there purposely (more like it was just thrown there).. haha atleast i wasnt the only onebtw... i have the alpine w205...but im thinking of upgrading to the 505. but i love this unit
especially the full speed ipod capability
Yeah my windows are tinted, but if someone were to get close enough, they can easily see it inside. I just took it out recently, since I dont drive my Civic in the winter.
just build a custom car pc works a whole lot better and can do more with it than that thing
