well is kind of late to ask this question but here it goes. I have a sc34 prcision turbo going on my b16 and i just bought a 3'' down pipe and somebody told me that wasnt a good idea. I also have a full 3'' exhaust to go with it and now it has me thinking wether getting that down pipe was a good idea or not.

The only issues with a large downpipe is you most likely can not run AC, whereas with a smaller downpipe you MIGHT be able to. Other than that... a 3" downpipe and 3" exhaust will flow better.. but beware if you have a very low car. Mine isn't that low, but I scrape the exhaust all the time...

Another problem you may have with a large diameter downpipe is there might not be enough room on the flange for the bolts and nuts to turn. We just had this problem with one of our 1G DSMs.

I run a full 3" downpipe+exhaust...some bolts on the turbo exhaust side are hard to get to when putting the downpipe on... but still managed to fit it.
