Drag racing ticket!!!!!

well i was out with a friend on us 27(south florida), whicj is a popular race spot to see if anything was out. He had just got his car yesterday and wanted to see how good it was running. So we ran and we see a cop state trooper behind us and he goes around us after these bikes. The bikes dip and leave his ass in the dust. ha ha. But unfortunately I nor my friend have bikes, so mr a*****e pulls us offer and gives us drag racing tickets. now dont get me wrong i am happy i didnt get my car towed away and that im not in jail right now but the fact is he didnt even see us race. does anyone know any way to fight this type of ticket?? please help.

yes you can fight it, and yes you can win. first thing you have to do is a lot of reading- go to a library or town hall and dig up every law on the books regarding speeding/ racing. once you find out exactly what the specifics of what constitutes racing, you then need to start concocting a story for your defence. if you want some help, find the laws and either post them here or email them to me, and hit me up on aim and ill do my best to help you. unfortunately, traffic violations are looked at with a "guilty until proven innocent" mindset, so your going to have to dig yourself out of a legal hole. good luck with it.

would have been a perfect time for a bike but oh well.. thanx for the reponses. i am looking into hiring a lawyer and seeing what he can do. my friend and i are going to go in on it together so maybe that will better are chances..

wow it was just a ticket???? how much....honestly i wouldnt get a lawyer, thats gonna cost lots more than the ticket....and yeah listen to handlebarsfsr he just let out of a ticket by americas good ole court system....

ok first of all its not just a ticket, its a 2nd degree misdemeanor, which means i will have a criminal record if found guilty, second up to 500 dollars in fines and up to 60 days in jail. So now tell me not to get a lawyer..

you were racing, and got caught. whose fault is that? of course the cop saw you racing, they don't usually hand out random tickets to random people. and yes, you're lucky your car didn't get towed. you knew you were breaking the law, now pay up.

hater??? um, ok... the guy was street racing and got caught. he knew the consequences, and he still chose to do it. now he's whining about it. did we make him do it? no. why is he complaining to us about it. his fault, not ours. uh... yes i have my license, and no i don't do too much street racing because i like my license too much. and if i DID get caught for it, i wouldn't whine about it.

your definately lucky he didnt haul you away right then and there. caught racing here is an immediate arrest, fine, impound. ive noticed that when someone gets a racing ticket(instead of being arrested), its because the cop didnt have radar to backup a speeding ticket, and racing doesnt need the radar. i had a friend who got a ticket for racing on the highway, but he was on a regular road. only way to fight it i would think is to argue that you were speeding, then someone happens to be speeding next to you. still a long shot tho.

I don't know about racing but go to www.speedtrap.com and sites like it they'll give you advice on fighting speeding tickets. Good Luck!!!
