hey i have a homemade turbo set up. i intalled everything and ran it a little with stock injectors at about 4-5psi. but we wanted more so we installed the dsm 450cc injectors. i know that they are alot more than stock. well when i hit the throttle a little it dies and then revs up sometimes just dies. it ideals smooth after it worms up but still it dies when you give it throttle. if you hold the gas at a steady rpm(about 3000)it sounds like it is running real bad and missing a lot. please help. do i need a tune and what could i do to compromise just to get it running right. should i get different spark plugs that can handle the fuel?

Whoaaaa.... How much research have you done?

Do you have either a resistor box or inline resister in there? Do you have any way of tuning the fuel?

OMG...

I'm not a turbo guy, but it may be too rich. What are you using for fuel management?

i do have a resistor box and imnot an idiot i know my stuff. i dont have it tuned and i know that it is just dumping fuel in there but i thought it would control the fuel enough for it to run good enough to drive. i am going to get a AFC and fmu to tune/adjust fuel i just got scared and ran inside and typed up the post to see if anyone could help

Well, im not trying to be an ass, but your car runs on 240cc injectors normally and somehow you expect it run correctly on 450cc with no control?

all civics except y7 are 240cc.

you might need to bump your fuel pressure up.

btw to the guy who said you need resistors. 88-91 OBD0 pwns, we have them stock.

I didn't see he drove and obd0... My bad, lol.

But yea, you're dumping twice as much fuel into the cylinders with the same amount of air. Of course the best way to fix this is with a chip and tune but an AFC will work and has worked for many. You need to retard your timing and go with a colder plug. I ran NGK bkr7e's. They're two steps colder then the factory 5 heat range.

chip it, and btw you cant ust an fmu and a afc together, well you could but that would be dumber than you not knowing why your car runs shitty with bigger injectors, and no way to control them

wow.....

Go ahead... put on an FMU and then the AFC.... let me know how that works..... u should see atleast a 50hp INCREASE

as my friend borat would say....

NAWTTTTTTT!!!!!!!

You deff. need a afc or atleast some sort of chip to control that amount of fuel going into the motor. also for DSM injectors u need resistors like they stated above.

Whats ur setup? i might have a map for you if u decide to Chip ur ECU.
