hey guys, my dad has a wrecked-to-hell 3KGT VR-4 and hes letting me have one the stock turbos for my D-civic, but will i need any thing else for this to fit like a custom manifold, turbo piping, intercooler etc.?

all those things you just said you will need, including a waste gate, blow-off valve, and a boost controller, maybe a turbo timer.

Well, im not a turbo guy... but im pretty damn sure you can use the top half of an STD manifold and have an adapter plate machined to work... that would be a cheaper route.. you can probably also pick and choose a few things out of the greddy kit.. someone correct me if im wrong.. i would spend some time browsing some more specific sites like www.homemadeturbo.com

boost controller is optional--not recommended when your first peicing together your kit.. get it running solid before you start turning up the boost
turbo timer is optional--you can just sit in the car and let it cool down. if the turbo is water cooled you can run the water lines and pretty much not worry about it aslong as your not doing crazy 5th gear pulls right before you turn off the car.
turbo most likely has an internal wastegate but if not you will need one

you'll need

custom manifold or you can find an hf/vx/cx/std oem manifold and make an adapter plate
oil feed/drain lines-custom, but htey have kits premade. just find the right fittings and your good
charge pipes-gonna have to be pretty much custom
intercooler-universal
bov-universal. 1g dsm is a great cheap bov but whatever works for you. jsut stay away from platic ones
downpipe--gonna have to be custom
fuel managament--let me stress as THE most important part. i recommend bigger injectors and a ecu chipping program like uberdate or chrome. both are cheap and very affective when dyno tuned(or atleast tuned with a wideband o2)
