you might not need to get a new amp how many ohms are the voice coils and how do u have them wired up.

the voice coils on the sub, one is running to the place on the box where the wire attaches to the metal and then another wire is running to the other voice coil of the sub....

whats the impedance of each voice coil? it should likely be dual 4 ohm voice coil or such

Do you have that amp bridged?

Did you turn down the gain a little bit and see if that stops it from tripping its protection?

Do you have adequete airflow around the amp? (not under your seat)

What size wire is your power lead?

Ground?

not bridged, tried gain turned all the way down, yes its in the trunk, and im not sure about gauge of wire but its from an amp hook up kit, so thats not the problem

So if it isnt bridged, do you have 1 channel going to one voice coil, and the other to the other side of the voicecoil? From what you said its not like that, just clearing that up though.

Does it happen instantly when music gets to the Amp/Speaker or after a few minutes? On extreme bass hits?

You should be running AT LEAST 8G or better for 600W, your ground should also be 8G or greater.

You should be running that amp bridged to the DVC sub at 2Ohms.......

hmm...yea ok so ur runnin 2 ohms to 1 channel practically then?

if i was you i would get another sub thats a dual voice 4 ohm sub....

for a dvc(dual voice coil) sub u can only run at 2 ohms or 8 ohms....so get another 1 so u can either run it at 1 ohm or 4 ohm....sooo...get another 4 dvc sub!

What would he get if he ran it 2 channels, each hooked up to a different VC? For some reason, its just not adding up today... lol

that would prolly f*** up the sub so i wouldnt try that....actually see how its only running to one channel...well dont do that run it bridged at 8 ohms should give u more power then just running it to one channel...UNTIL u get another 4 ohm dvc sub

running two ohm stereo on average is half the brided power

50x2 4 ohms

100x2 2 ohms

200x1 4 ohm mono

personally I would put no stock into any of the equipment you have. Sorry. If you start tossing the idea of a new sub around I would look into a new amp as well.
Look into better names that give you value
