I know this is probably more tech than anything but I really don't feel like making my way up there nor do I feel like searching tonight....

My '96 ex coupe 5spd has been averaging around 320-350 miles to a tank since I bought it. Suddenly over the course of the last 3ish tanks I has been about 190-220 miles to a tank. I have no f**king idea what the hell happened. Anyone got any ideas?

And before the questions fly, air and oil filter have been recently changed, oil changed recently, have been using the same brand of gas (76 or shell)

I had the same problem with my Celica. I was told by the gas station attendant that during the colder months they put additives into the gas to help preventing it from becoming a thicker consistency. Which in turn makes us lose gas mileage.

Correct. Winter gas is different from summer gas to compensate for the colder temperatures which makes it harder for "regular summer" gas to burn. I've noticed it too. I filled up yesterday with only 275 miles on my trip and I filled up 11.5 gallons lol.

^^ ouch. i'm still averaging 300 miles between fillups @ 9.5 to 10 gallons each time. maybe the winter gas mixture varies from state to state or region to region :what:

Most northern states will do this with their gas... Sucks that they would though, I'd hate to get even lower mileage in any of my cars...
