for less than $300.00, you may be right, but not to reliable of a motor for that cheap.

hey, i like my Z6. it was only like 300.00 or somthing. my friends getting an entire swap done for 1200. including cost of motor, trans, a brand new act clutch, ecu, mounts, labor, and the guys custom bending him a cat back. The motor itself only has like 20,000 miles on it, and if we were gonna do the swap, he said he wanted like $450 for the motor and trans.

the D motor is lighter and if modded right, can be a beast. It all comes down to cost, but i'd go B if cost is an issue and you're willing to save up. Not to mention less moving parts on the D.

ouch steep price. D series are interchangable as far as I know, not to mention you're not swapping a Z DOHC 1.5 litre in so it should just be a direct engine bolt on.

To the original poster... B16C5 or D16Y8 turbo is the way to go. If you go B16 then P&P + high CR and if you go "cheap" route, go D16 + t3/t4 + custom everything else with Hondata200 ecu or even a AEM EMS if you have 1500 to shell out.

b16c5 huh................ right, that dosent exist. and actually, thats not bad considering the motor has 20,000 miles. not to mention the cost of labor for that would be insanly higher. plus, we need new mounts, because my friend has a broken one. and, a BRAND NEW trans and act clutch, custom exaust, thats pretty cheap for all that s**t man.

Hey I like my D15 and have managed to get alot of good parts for it. For awhile I was considering a swap I asked everyones opinion but everyone had a diffrent one. So I decided to stick with the D15 and have bolted on some good parts. I just got headers a ported throttle Body from a z6 a OBX crome ported intake manifold. I have a zex kit and a zex cam and I am going to be getting a zex flywheel. So There are loads of parts and I have been pritty succesful at pulling some good power out of my D15. I am also getting a SI tranny. In my opinion I would stick with the D15 because you can mod it one piece at a time without car downtime if you have a small pocket. I am not running mine till its done but that is just me. I am also looking into a turbo.

c5 is the ITR (JDM Integra.. ya know the DC2?) head.

So in fact, there is such thing as a b16c5.
Same concept as LSVTec or K24a2 (Frankensteins)

But on second thought I wouldn't recomend it... ITR heads are very expensive.

^^ It would be cheaper to just get a Civic TypeR B16B, what you said is dumb cuz you still won't get the power of a CTR or ITR motor because of the lower compression pistons.

I am running a zex 55 shot. I did put new valves in first due to a higher milage. I didnt do anything to the pistons. I just bought a turbo setup today so I am going to be putting that into play.
