I just finished installing my turbo on my 95 coupe and took her to the dyno last night
I was running lean so I will be back on the dyno tuning shortly.

D16z6
dsm450's
1g dsm bov
greddy 15g turbo
trust intercooler
UBERDATA
255L/hour fuel pump
8Psi boost

I hope you can see the dyno plot 170 WHP / 170 Torque. I expect slightly better #'s when I richen up the AF ratio.

that exhaust is killing you. get a 3 inch dp, 3 inch cat, 3 inch exhaust. oh, you might want to either get an af guage or an egt gauge.

A Pyrometer is an EGT gauge and as stated above I already have it....I also have an A/F gauge but i dont use it.

How much do you really think 2-1/4" -3" piping would really help my D series. 5-7hp max Im guessing, I dont think it is worth the money. I just need to do some more tuning.

a wider exhaust would help more than you think...

i think his 2 1/4 is fine..i agree with him that its a waste to upgrade to a 3in. that is a pretty good number out of a small turbo..whats your next mod? head work? bottom end?

Nice numbers, why do you think you will get better numbers when you richen it up? Normally the richer it is, the lower the number will end up being. But there are other factors involved, like timing etc, but generally speaking, rich is a b***h and lean is mean.

170 single cam 8 psi is pretty good/ normal id like to see the other end now.. (what it will run at the track) im sure you should be well in the 14's area with decent traction....

great job with the boost..

i agree with half of what you said.. lol rish probably will drop his power a little UNLESS its so lean its breaking up.. in which case that is not good at all.. lean is mean till you start seeing pinging/detonation.. but in general what you say IS true..

Oh yeah, you want to avoid detonation at all costs if you can, thats not what I meant. I figured that it was tuned for a/f ratio and you were already on the safe side.

good numbers?!?!!?! i like the fact that the tq is up with hp, but im sorry, you should be making more power. you can easily turn the boost up to 10psi on your stock internals ( go to www.turbod16.com and tell them 8 is just enough), then open up your dp, cat and exhaust....youll see a good amount of power. a 2.5 inch dp, 3 inch cat, and 3 inch exhaust will give you ATLEAST a gain of 10-20hp. you gain ALOT more than you think, on a na car you might gain 8 hp, but on a turbo car youll gain double if not more than that. you see evo exhaust boasting dyno numbers of a gain of 30-40 hp

Maximum Boost says that 2.25" will be more than enough for those numbers. 3" is suppose to be for 300++ whp.

I suggest better tuning techniques... get uber data, run Beer Bongs map, tweak it for your turbo and your set.

since when does 3 inch only for cars over 300???? on a recent test, the 3 inch on a stock wrx out performs all other sizes....

that is exactly what I aready have done. except I havent had time to tune cause i never had my laptop or eprom programmer when i was on the dyno.

Beerbongs base map was way to lean 14 -14.8 A/f at high RPM

so I added about 20% fuel to the entire boost portion of the map and am taking it easy until i go back and tune on the dyno

I installed it all myself and chipped my ecu myself so it wasn't to bad, but I still put in around 5000CDN because of gauges, compustar alarm w/ turbo timer, oil lines & fittings, eprom programmer, turbo kit w/ intercooler and charge piping, CAI w/ BOV, injectors, fuel pump, list goes on....
