E brake light

ok, so my ebrake light randomly comes on when the e brake is not engaged. i'm pretty sure the sensor is just f**ked up but was wondering if anyone else on here has had the same problem. Basically, i'll get in, get going, and as soon as i hit the gas in first the e brake light comes on. It stays on through the gears and only goes off if I let off the gas in fourth or fifth, or if i tap the brake pedal. so, its on when the gears are moving and off when i get through them, thats why i think its a sensor or something. Any ideas/input

I recently had somewhat the same issue, I removed the armrest and lubed the tensioner spring on the E-brake handle, that fixed it all. It was binding a bit and when I would drive it would pull the handle up just enough to turn the light on. See if that helps any

It turned out to be the brake fluid actually. Top off the resevoir and it should be fine.
