Eclipse Cd lock help

I have done some reading on the Internet in these past few hours and have come across some very depressing news. I was excited that my father for Christmas gave me his Eclipse headunit. I was absolutely thrilled because Eclipse is an extremely reputable brand and has great sound quality. So I've been doing some research on installation in my 1991 Toyota Tercel. He had it installed his 1991 Ford F-150 and he absolutely loved it with his alpine amp, bazooka tube, and kicker 6.5". He hit a moose in September of 2001 and totaled his truck and luckily was able to salvage the system. He never had it installed in his new truck because he just never got around to it and he thought it had a sufficient stock stereo. So I got it for Christmas and I found out about 10 minutes ago it has a CD lock on it. Is there anyway you can help me because I'm in dire need of a CD player at least in my car and I don't know what to do with this CD lock I hear horrible things about unless you are the original owner.

all you have to do is ask him what cd he set as his key cd, borrow that cd and unlock it. he may have never set up the key cd at all so try and hook it up if he doesn't remember.

yeah hes had the system since about 92 so he prolly wont remember(hes a stoner ) and hehe funny story all teh cds he owned were stolen in a B&E 2 months ago...f**k im screwed unless he didnt install it?

the cd player is from 92? damn! yeah i think you're only hope is if he didn't do it. does the deck say ESN anywhere on it?

no, it doesnt say ESNanywhere that i can see(front back top bottom sides) but it was manufactured in april 93. but it does say ASM right between the pauseplay button and the SC button...whats SC mean?(supercharged?)

lol asm is auto station memory, dunno what sc is

i'm thinking you might be lucky and its too old to have the lockout feature

according to various links on google and they say that the ECD-410 has the lockout feature

your pops only needs to remember what cd he locked it with. It doesnt need to be the exact cd, it can be a copy of the same cd. Otherwise Eclip[se will unlock it for $75.00
My opinion. buy an Alpine and save the money

I've had alpine, I've had pioneer, I've had JVC, panasonic, clarion, etc. My eclipse deck is the nicest one I've ever used. I'm sure there's more that have more features and s**t, but for the price range, it's honnestly the best entry-level deck I've ever used.

..dude i got teh deck for christmas so im not looking to change it..according to my pa it was something like $1000 (cdn) brand new back in 93..maybe ill get lucky and it never came equipped with it.
plus alpine is getting played out...not that they are bad but everyone their mother and uncles have something made by them (i have an amp)

i personally like alpine hardware and the look but i was told recently that all the designers from alipine left and started eclipse. im sure this was a while ago but i thought it was an interesting fact. it makes me wonder what eclipse pieces are like

lol i think the guy is a little pissy about eclipse.. hes not a fan and had bad experience from eclipse according to his past post he made..

own 3 eclipse decks so far and love them.. if u really like the HU call up eclipse. they got great customer service called them many times and always helped me out.

Naw Eclipse, Or Fujitsu-Ten got started by pretty much pumping out oem stereos for toyota.
Almost all toyota from like 95 on up are all eclipse decks. Could be a possibility why Im always pulling toyota decks out for being f**ked.
Look on the bright side at least I will admit the eclipse deck is better than a Rockford Deck...............barely
