I purchased a chip for my p28, 2 step is suppose to be set at 4500rpms, but it 2steps at 3500rpms instead. Could the ECU be bad? I know the chip is good and the motor runs and everything...

all I know is that it causes your egt's (exhaust gas temperatures) to get really hot and if your head isnt built for that you will cause alot of damage to it. I've also heard that if you have boost, it's bad for the turbo.

What you are thinking of is anti lag. Which pushes the combustion and heat basically into the exhaust.

This can cause some stress on the turbine wheel and on exhaust valves. But if you aren't on it for very long it won't hurt it.
